Every nation has its own customs and codes of behavior. Therefore, the right preparation is essential. Besides very good knowledge of the English language you will need knowledge about typical customs, meals and habits of the host country. Do not expect to find well-qualified staff as you would do in Germany and consider the the whole PC, accounting and Food&Beverage departments might be completely different.
This course is a nationwide joint action of the HWBR Hotel School with the European Hotel Academy, Heppenheim, and the University of cooperative education Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Target group for this course
Specialists of the hotel and restaurant industry (Meister and Fachwirte) as well as qualified staff with a minimum of six years work experience.
Language training and work placement at the European Hotel Academy
The European Hotel Academy is located in Heppenheim / Bergstrasse which is south of Frankfurt. The Academy will give you the language training and cultural immersion needed for your stay abroad, and also assist you with finding a job in the country of your choice. Among others, you can choose from Canada, the USA, the UK, Ireland, the British Channel Islands, Cyprus or Mauritius. Besides that, the EHA has contacts to renowned hotel chains and groups all over Europe.
Certificate of the University of Cooperative Education Mecklenburg-Western-Pomerania
With this you will prepare for the examination at the Berufsakademie Mecklenburg-Vorpommern - University of Cooperative Education. You will take a practical and a language examination at the examination board in charge. After successfully completing the examination you will receive a certificate which entitles you to use the designation. This certificate documents your professional competence in the examined subjects.
Contents and Requirements for admission
Basically, the course consists of three parts:
- Two weeks basic course English, Hotel School Rostock, as an option for participants with little or no knowledge of the English language
- Four weeks practical instructions and management in the international hotel business, Hotel School Rostock
- Two weeks language course and cultural specifics with native speakers, EHA Heppenheim
Certificate
In general, each participate will receive a certificate of both, the HWBR Hotel School Rostock and the European Hotel Academy upon successful completion of the courses.
After successfully completing the examination at the Berufsakademie Mecklenburg-Vorpommern you will be awarded with the title
Certified International Hotel Manager (BA)
specialised in Hotel, Cuisine, Restaurant, Bar or Housekeeping

Compact course within six weeks plus an optional two-week basic English course before that

240 lessons (with basic English: 320 lessons)
