Certified cook for nursing homes (BA)

The quality of life of home residents can only be improved by involving the kitchen.
Compact course in 1 ½ months
Professional cooks in nursing homes get in touch with the residents and can learn to understand people in need of care. They will then connect this understanding with their extensive knowledge about the special nutritional requirements with regard to diseases such as cancer, dementia, diabetes, disorders of metabolism and others. So they will be able to identify overlaps which will be target-oriented and culinary attractive at the same time.
As the Hotel School Rostock, we have deliberately based the training for cooks in nursing homes on the basic contents of the "Certified Cook for prevention and therapy (BA)", because this course already contains the latest nutritional knowledge. In addition to that, the cooks for nursing homes will acquire specific knowledge that is required for their work in old people's and nursing homes.
This course clearly exceeds the contents of a traditional course for dietary cooks and provides a deeper insight into the matter than any other curriculum for kitchen staff suggests.
Target group for this course
Kitchen staff in hospitals, old people's and nursing homes and rehab centres who would like to become highly specialized chefs.
